 Once you've shopped out the boardwalk in Virginia Beach, if your pocketbook's not empty it doesn't have to be over. There are plenty of other shopping opportunities in the city, and not all of them are on the seashore.
If you're interested in checking out larger malls or outlet centers, there are plenty to choose from in Virginia Beach, including the Great American Outlet mall; Loehmann's Plaza shopping center; Pembroke Mall with its eight movie theaters; Hilltop Mall with more than 120 stores; and Lynnhaven Mall, one of the largest malls on the East Coast at more than a million square feet of shopping goodness. Consignment City has two "upscale retail superstores" in Virginia Beach, with a little something for everyone. Virginia Beach's resort area, and not just the Boardwalk, has more than a thousand little stores offering everything from souvenirs to collectibles and everything in between.
Antiques can be found in shops at the various museums and historical attractions in and around Virginia Beach, or at the indoor Bill's Flea Market, or from the many stalls of sellers at the Barrett Street Antique Center. Search for edibles at the Ocean Seafood Market or Lynnhaven Seafood Marina on the waterfront; indulge your sweet tooth at the Candy Kitchen, making children smile since the 1930s; or stay healthy at the Virginia Beach Farmer's Market inland. Virginia Beach's biggest year-round costume shop can be found at Things Unlimited, along with other consignment and thrift items.
 If you're looking for something a little more exotic, look no further than the Animal Jungle: 26,000 square feet of sharks, snakes, exotic birds, reptiles and fish for sale. Check out the Halloween Store at the Atlantic Beach Club's Haunted Fun House. Pay a visit to Nava'kee, an authentic American Indian Trading Post offering native handicrafts and other items to benefit reservations and native populations. Or, buy a t-shirt at Del Sol, where "sun-powered clothing" is one color inside, then bursts into a rainbow outdoors with changes in light and temperature.
From surfboards to golf clubs, lingerie to kitschy souvenirs, you'll find everything you can think of for sale somewhere in Virginia Beach.
